A silly memoir about vegetables has made it to the tip of the menu as this 365 days’s funniest at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Swedish comic Olaf Falafel has received Dave’s “Funniest Droll memoir of The Fringe” award with the arena of interest culinary pun.

He took the title with the gag: “I support randomly shouting out ‘Broccoli’ and ‘Cauliflower’ – I mediate I would own florets”.

It is a long way from Falafel’s point to It is One Huge Leek For Mankind at the Pear Tree.

In its Twelfth 365 days, the prize rewards the funniest one-liner to grace the venues of the festival and celebrates the pool of skills the Fringe has to give.

The function of discovering the wittiest one-liners fell to an expert panel of 10 judges, comprising the UK’s leading comedy critics.
